Rolling Fog

This is one of the sights I miss the most, as I sit here in an apartment in Baltimore. Last summer, when J and I were returning home from our honeymoon trip to Vancouver, BC, we were treated to this view of the fog rolling in over the hills as we came in to land at the San Francisco airport.

Wow!

I remember the first time I ever witnessed this phenomenon... It was in the summer of 2000 - I was visiting my godfather in Berkeley, and we drove down to Palo Alto to meet some extended family for dinner there. We were driving south down the 280 right around sunset. The fog was rolling in over the hills towards us as the sky began to change from orange to pink and on to deep fuschia and blue... What a sight!

It is these moments of nature's beauty that my romantic tendencies awaken and I feel at peace.

Yeah, it's pretty from a distance, but I HATED living in the fog.

Oh, I loved it, but then again, I lived on the other side of the hill from it :-)
