In memory of a writer with spirit
Madeleine L'Engle died yesterday in Connecticut at age 88 (I think).
She remains one of my all time favorite authors. Many of her stories affected me quite deeply, and perhaps even changed or enhanced my view of life and humanity. Her stories contained powerful messages about good and evil and human flaws and the grey areas of life.
There is a really nice article in the New York Times today about her - to read it, go here.
If you haven't read any of her books, then, by all means, do so.
to Madeleine L'Engle - all the best.

Thanks for posting this. It's sad news, but it sounds like she went peacefully. For sure she had a long life and did much good.
I was soooo sad when I heard this yesterday - she had such a profound influence in my life, especially in those formative pre-teen/teen years. Ring of Endless Light remains on my all-time top ten list of books. :(
