I love this picture of my goddaughter, but I'm not terribly happy with the way blogger is translating the color balance and saturation of my images... I will have to investigate this...but for now, it's bedtime.

a Goddaughter arrives!!

Ruthann Marie Pehl was born on June 16th, to the delight of everyone :-)

It was a Monday, and it just so happened that Emily and I were driving into the LA area that afternoon, so we were able to stop by the hospital that evening to have a visit with Ruthann and Jenny! As it so happened, we had the chance to say hello to Curtis, Thomas, and Jenny's mom as well.

Ruthann slept alot the first time we met her...as a matter of fact, we didn't see her eyes at all until Saturday when we all trekked over to visit her at home - we(Zifnab, Lanth, Jonathan, Em, and I) were all excited to see her eyes when she finally woke up during that visit. In this picture, she's looking in Zifnab's general direction as he's the one holding her ;-)

In this second picture, Em is holding her - I love this, because you can see how tiny Ruthann's little feet and toes are.

We all loved meeting her, and /I/ am looking forward to more visits with her soon :-)

~ a beautiful baby bunting ~

My dear sister makes the most amazing things out of yarn :-) She's truly a wizard at the art of crochet. For her baby gift to good friends of ours, L & T, she created this precious baby bunting and cap.

Finally, on Monday, when I was babysitting for Collin, the baby for which the works of art were created, I put him in the bunting and cap to take some pictures!

He looks very cute, and was very happy (or so it seemed), so I got tons of excellent pictures! He squirmed around, and he kept changing facial expressions. In fact, every time I thought I was ready to put my camera down, he would make a different face, yet again!! Anyhow, Em, these photos are for you :-)

Introducing...

...baby Collin!!! He is about three weeks old in these photos. The first is a shot of him wide awake, being held by a friend of his mom. He seems to like wrinkling up his forehead...




Here he's sleeping in Jonathan's arms wearing an adorable cap made for him by his Auntie Em ;-)

We recently took a side trip to Southern California (a side trip from our house-hunting trip in the bay area) and visited with my brother and sister-in-law, many Adams relatives, my grandma, uncle, and our godson Thomas and his parents - all of this in three days :-D ...not to mention assorted friends - yay!...

Anyhow, we had a blast, although the visit was far too short. Thomas is now one year old - this picture was taken about a week before his first birthday. He had wedged himself partially under the front of the rocking chair, and he was happily "reading" to himself... He has a small pile of board/tub books in front of his dresser, so he'll occasionally make his way over there to "read". It's positively adorable!

We had a great time with everyone on our visit, and it was fun to see Thomas - he's a total people person...

...there's a shocker.

Yay!! A new hard drive :-)

I'm back!!!

In the time since I've been gone, I've been spending quite a bit of time with a couple of babies - Collin (Liz and Tom's new baby) and my godson, Thomas (who we recently visited in the LA area).

Spending time with them has made me feel young again - hence the picture of me c.1982(?) - which you may see to your right :-)

In addition, my hard drive failed on my computer a few weeks ago, and it's only just now been replaced. (my barely 1 year old iMac!!). Of course, now I have the Leopard operating system installed - happiness :-)

So, I have had no computer, was out of town, etc...etc...

Thus, no posts.

However, get ready for an exciting one some time this week!!!!
